What Students Learn
Students can learn numerous lessons on STEAM subjects while having fun in several learning labs.
Meteorology & More brings students into the center of a Category 1 hurricane to experience its power. Visitors can also experience how cold the water was when the Titanic sank in the frigid North Atlantic Ocean in 1912 in “How Cold Is It?”
Physical Physics labs help young scientists discover adrenaline-pumping experiences, including a three-dimensional impression of your body on the WonderWall, or flipping upside down on an Extreme 360 Bike. This zone is where the action never stops, giving students the chance to see a Tesla Coil up close and lie down on a bed of nails!
In the Lights, Sounds & Senses lab, experience a one-of-a-kind 3D film and special effects in full-motion seating at the XD Motion Theater. The Bubble Lab teaches about physics, while Strike a Pose teaches the secrets to light and shadow.
The Space Discovery labs allow students to train as astronauts in a four-person gyroscope that spins and rotates, simulating the effects of outer space. Try on an astronaut space suit, EVA, vital for survival in extreme outer space environments. Sit inside a replica Project Mercury capsule and understand what it feels like to lie inside a one-man space vehicle, while learning about the technology that helped power it.
Elements, Earth & Life labs transport students to faraway places at the Google Earth virtual globe, comprising the world’s unique continents, terrain, structures and more. Or explore an interactive sandbox at Dig-It, where students can create their own landscapes, including safari flatlands, Jurassic mountains, deep-ocean trenches, and more.
At Wonder Art Gallery, groups can explore the Illusion Art Gallery, filled with intriguing artworks that deceive the eyes and delight the mind. Discover OZART, a young artists gallery, or Dr. Seuss’s Unorthodox Taxidermy, with seventeen sculptures that boast authentic horns, bills and antlers.
