Veterans Memorial Museum
Filled with extraordinary exhibits that honor brave men and women heroes of the 20th century, the Veterans Memorial Museum is a must-visit Branson attraction for student groups. The privately owned museum is dedicated to those who risked their lives to fight for our liberties, including the sacrifices made by families and the ways they were forever affected by war.
What Students Learn
Through captivating wartime showcases, students can wander the museum halls and gain powerful insights into the sacrifices of American war veterans. Through emotional storytelling and authentic artifacts, groups are encouraged to reflect on personal experiences and what it means for America today.
The journey begins in the World War I Hall, where groups can view impressive war exhibitions, including authentic uniforms, vehicles and weapons. Continue a self-guided tour through WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf and more recent conflicts, and read the names of those who were killed in action. These halls depict dramatic events and encourage students to ask questions, fostering a curiosity for how our country gained its freedom.
Look through actual letters written to home from soldiers, glimpse medals worn by veterans, and witness sculptures, murals and other historical artifacts that connect real-life events to in-class lessons.
