The science center offers immersive STEM experiences for students, with more than 90 interactive exhibits. Notable among these is the LEGO Millyard Project, the largest permanent LEGO installation in the world, which showcases the industrial history of Manchester while teaching engineering concepts. Students can engage in self-guided exploration or participate in guided workshops that cover a variety of subjects, from computer programming to simple machines and chemistry.
SEE’s programs align with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), ensuring that the learning objectives meet educational benchmarks. The center offers flexible options: single programs (1.5 hours), or combinations of two to four programs, extending the experience up to 4.5 hours. Teachers can tailor the activities to match their curriculum needs during the planning phase with SEE staff.
The field trip structure emphasizes hands-on learning and critical thinking, encouraging students to apply problem-solving skills across STEM disciplines. Chaperones are provided free admission at a ratio of one for every four students, ensuring a well-supervised environment for exploration. Additionally, SEE Science Center hosts summer camps and other community programs, extending learning opportunities beyond regular school visits.
