The Sacred Heart University Discovery Science Center & Planetarium in Bridgeport is a hub of hands-on learning. The facility includes a 33-foot dome for immersive, full-dome planetarium shows, where students can experience everything from the history of Ancient Egypt to space-age discoveries. These shows, designed to cater to various educational levels, make learning accessible and enriching for students of all ages. The planetarium’s use of state-of-the-art Digistar 7 technology provides real-time cosmic visualizations, allowing students to explore topics such as space travel, the solar system, and earth science in a way that’s both educational and engaging.
Additionally, the Discovery Center houses the Challenger Center, a simulated space station and mission control setup, where students can engage in mock space missions, developing skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
