Located in Boston, Massachusetts, the Christian Science Plaza invites students to explore the How Do You See the World?® experience with the Mapparium® globe. Interactive and educational exhibits explore the world through a lens of hope, progress, and generosity.
Walk through the three-story, stained glass Mapparium globe that shows the world as it was in 1935—and see the progress. Experience the world during the narrated light and sound presentation that highlights the global connections and historical context of the era. Then explore the surrounding exhibits that encourage reflection on the progress we’ve made, fostering critical thinking and curiosity.
Perfect for students of all ages, this experience blends history, geography, and art into one immersive activity and even offers an Activity Book. Admission is free for youth under 18, providing an affordable yet impactful outing. The experience compliments social studies curricula and can offer a creative way to discuss topics like globalization and historical mapping. The Christian Science Plaza also offers Church tours and a peaceful environment for reflection.
