Day 1: Biology, Ecology & Environmental Science in Action

Morning: Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure

For environmental education in Branson, visit the Butterfly Palace & Rainforest Adventure. Students can experience life cycles and learn about ecosystems, biodiversity, and adaptation up close, and learn about biology and life science in an engaging way. The Living Rainforest Critter Center has 25 reptiles and amphibians available for viewing. There are many facts about rainforest wildlife and the various species of butterflies, reptiles, and amphibians. The activities align with NGSS because students can examine an organism’s parts and learn how they interact in the real world.

Afternoon: Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery & Table Rock Dam

Spend the afternoon at Shepard of the Hills Fish Hatchery, which promotes conservation and wildlife management, perfect for Branson conservation field trips. This trout-rearing facility is the largest in Missouri and offers interactive STEM exhibits. The hatchery uses Table Rock Dam as a renewable energy resource, an excellent example of preservation. Day 2: Innovation, Physics & Interactive Science

Morning: WonderWorks Branson

The Gyroscope Ride allows students to feel spinning, tilting, and balancing that simulates zero gravity in outer space. WonderWorks also has a space discovery zone and physical challenge areas that allow climbing, pulling, and pushing objects in the name of science. Silver Dollar City

Afternoon: Silver Dollar City

An afternoon stop for students is Silver Dollar City, Branson’s theme park with inventions and crafts from the 1800s. This location is unique for STEM learning because it combines exhilarating real-world physics with examples of 1800s engineering and live demonstrations from the masters of American Craftsmanship. Whether groups prefer roller coasters, viewing historical tools, or both, Silver Dollar City has it all. There is an opportunity for students to switch between mentally invigorating activities and physical thrills that can be paired with math challenges.

Wrap-Up: Science That Sticks
