Letha’s Youth Outdoors Fund supports school and youth group trips that provide educational experiences in nature. Priority is given to groups with limited access to natural environments and programs that highlight the importance of native plants, their habitats, or the impact of invasive species. Trips may be to nature preserves or environmental education centers and should be led by environmental educators or qualified leaders. Grants, ranging from $50 to $700 depending on need and available funds, cover transportation, naturalist fees, and related supplies. Reimbursement is provided for transportation arranged through school systems or local transit.
