This innovative entertainment venue is making waves in educational engagement through its unique student programs, particularly the Sphere XO Student Design Challenge. This initiative, launched in partnership with the Clark County School District and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites over 100,000 students from elementary through college to create artwork that will be displayed on the Exosphere, the world’s largest LED screen. The challenge not only showcases creativity but also fosters a deeper understanding of art, technology, and community involvement, providing students with a platform to enhance their artistic skills and gain recognition for their work, thereby boosting their confidence and self-esteem.
The challenge allows students to explore their artistic talents through a structured yet imaginative process. Elementary and middle school students receive templates of the Sphere to illustrate. In contrast, high school and college students are provided with VR headsets and digital design tools to create their submissions. The artwork selected for display on the Exosphere will debut during the Fourth of July celebrations, marking a significant opportunity for young artists to have their work seen on a global stage.
